1300's
The 1300's were hard, brutal, exhausting but who better to take on that challenge then the Cornett's.
Gretchen and Jake decide to take on this impossible task of raising a family through time.
Zapped back to 1300 the couple were happy to at least have one another. Jake really craved the physical intimacy of his wife, especially when he had no idea how long he may have her. The only thing he knew for certain was they were destined to have 2 kids and he was going to be the head of the church.
Speaking of kids, the pair decide to start that immediately. They wanted to have both of their kids quickly if they could help it.
With the baby issued settled, Jake gets a job as a Pastor and starts building his church.
It didn't take long for the couple to learn they were expecting. Jake was obviously very happy about the news. The couple knew a boy was ideal but they would be happy with anything.
This time is very different from where they are from so Jake spends his time reading books to learn all about the customs and traditions.
Gretchen on the other hand likes to learn by doing instead and jumps in to meeting the locals. Most think she is weird as ever.
Gretchen doesn't seem to care that much though as she has her husband and that is all that really matters to her.
Their first year kind of bleed together. Gretchen painted, Jake tended the church and they always made time for one another.
Gretchen also started a garden. The family would need all the food they could get here shortly.
The family that came to live with the Cornetts had two problems - one they never left, I had to force them to leave. 2- the mom and dad would physically fight and though it's a great storyline, if I cared to write one, it became very annoying.
What is my couple doing you may ask? Well they are dancing and being lovey dovey <3
On the positive, these two remained friends..
Jake gets a small fishing pond out back and Gretchen organizes her plants better with planter boxes. She also gets more things to plant.
To supplement their income Jake starts painting more as Gretchen is more focused on gardening and growing a little human.
Finally it is baby time!! The baby arrives 1300-4. [The 4th day of the year]
*Speaking of, there are 5 days in 1 year. Depending on the day will depend on their birthday. So Kat will age up 1301-4. Her birthday will always fall on the 4th day.
A little girl is had - Katharine Cornett. It wasn't the boy the family hoped for but they were happy either way.
When Gretchen isn't being a mom she is gardening. It is the sole thing that keeps her sane and happy.
1301 came faster then expected. To end the year off, the pair start on baby number 2!
Some Info:
- All sims will have their baby count randomized because the thought of having to get rid of babies is annoying to me.
- Heirs get a dice roll of 1-6 / Spares get 0-3
- Heir's also get a dice roll of job. The choices are - Fathers career or new career (thats a coin flip) from there if they get new career I roll for it.
- Marriages are always arranged. When the daughters come of age to get married the first man they go on a date with will be their husband.. Thats the one I will say their parent's chose.
- For heirs/males - It's the same.
- I roll a death age instead of rolling for every little thing. YA, A, Elder. d3.. Whatever it lands on gets another roll for the ages I have predetermined. 18-25=YA, 26-40=A, 41-55=Elder..
So a good example is Gretchen and Jake. Gretchen lives till she is 40 meaning her Death Year is 1322. Jake on the other hand lives till he is 23 meaning his death date is 1305. That to me is easier to remember and deal with.
